AOL/AIM progs, short for programs, were third-party applications designed to enhance the functionality of AOL & AIM's software in the 1990s/early 2000s. They allowed users to customize their experience, often enabling features like sending automated messages, changing text colors, or even engaging in disruptive activities like flooding chat rooms and disconnecting other users.
