This revival project was started on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
This revival covers up to approximately June 21, 2003. The last post recovered was made by DarkKnight (under Nemisis' account) using a NewsPro/Coranto exploit. While Nemisis and DarkKnight were buddies, I do think I recall Nemisis being understandably upset about it.
From what I can remember, and also looking at the timestamps of Wayback Machine archives, Nemisis AIM was pretty much offline for the rest of 2003.
From August 2003 - March 2004, NemisisCommunications.com was sporting a new test layout designed by Seven.
Because I am a former "Staff" member of this site, I also happened to have some of the files that the Wayback Machine didn't archive! I gathered all the files together and began to sort it all out.
The internet was a [very] different place in the early 2000s.
On the front-end, I tried to keep everything as close to the original as I could while at the same time updating the HTML/CSS for modern viewing.
To elaborate, I have made minor formatting changes to better suit a widescreen monitor. I have also corrected some spelling/grammatical errors, but I did not want to correct everything!
I feel that keeping some if it, especially if it is not an obvious typo, helps preserve a part of Nemisis' personality at the time.
As for the back-end, I have made significant changes for a consistent and concise experience.
Random fact: Nemisis liked to use CoffeeCup HTML Editor while creating the original Nemisis AIM.
I have 3 screenshots to share. The first is how the unmodified archived site appears as of 4/20/2025. The second is a slightly tweaked version. (The main table needed centered, some 88x322 buttons were restored (or removed if they could not be recovered.) And finally, the third is this Revitalized version you are viewing as seen from my monitor.
It was mostly completed by Friday, October 20, 2023.
The majority of the content was scraped from the xNemisisx.com Wayback Machine capture.
For the record, this is not a true 1:1 preservation. And yes, I did sit on this for about a year and a half before publishing. ::grimacing face::
Unfortunately none of the images were preserved.
On March 29, 2005, Nemsis restored his site.
On April 23, 2005, the site had a new layout (by Damus) and a new banner (by Seven).
There were regular updates until December 14, 2005.
The next and final post was made on March 26, 2006.
The Staff box to the left includes only the names of people whose posts were able to be recovered.
Below is a list of other names that were once listed as being Staff or Posters:
Nemisis contributed a lot to the AIM scene. I have lost contact with him over the years, so if anyone is able to, please help me get in touch with him!
I would also like to hear from anyone else whom was involved in this scene. Hard to believe that was over 20 years ago now!
